MOMENTUM is going on the road - and we'd love to meet YOU at Maker Faire:

May 3 & 4, 2008
San Mateo County Fairgrounds
Bay Area, CA

http://makerfaire.com

We are incredibly excited to participate in this year's Maker Fair.

Our Team Momentum delegation includes Tania Lo, Mia Kohout and myself.

Maker Faire is a diverse, creative and wonderful meeting place and playing space for self-propelled people featuring a mind-boggling array of Do-It-Yourself, engineering, arts, music and sustainability-related makers and organizations.

It's like Burning Man for Nerds - it's a science fair for grown-ups ... it's a whole lot of human ingenuity, activity and interaction and we're looking forward to it immensely..

Are you going to Maker Faire? Let us know - we look forward to meeting you!

also have our May/June issue - hot off the presses with a great Lance Armstrong cover story, as well as articles about children's bike education, A.N.T. bike's Mike Flanigan, seven things to get your bike ready for spring, Toronto, Chicago - and much more!

We're also planning to ride in San Francisco on Friday evening for a High Heels Ride that we heard about via the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition

Maker Faire in a Nutshell:*

Maker Faire is a family friendly, two day event that celebrates Arts, Crafts, Engineering, Music and Science and those who embrace the DIY spirit (think of it as a new fangled fair - where we are reprogramming the content and have contemporary areas of interest including rockets, robots, bicycles, crafts, recycling, re-purposing, slow-food and more)*

It is put on by O'Reilly Media (an established, highly regarded technical media publishers based in Sebastopol, CA) the publishers of Make and Craft Magazines and sponsor of the Web 2.0 Conference that is held annually in San Francisco* Maker Faire started in the San Francisco Bay area in 2006.

The Faire had over 200 Makers and over 20,000 attendees the first year, and last year it had over 500 Makers and 45,000 attendees.

Maker Faire also went on the road to Austin, Texas (October 20th and 21st, 2007) with over 20,000 attendees.

Maker Faire continues to keep growing in popularity with Attendees, Makers, Sponsors, Exhibitors and the Media.
