Opening on Broadway: A Street to Bike and Walk

According to New York City's Transportation Alternatives, "Mayor Bloomberg announced New York City's biggest-ever livable streets initiative." The pilot project being implemented this spring will transform sections of Broadway in Times Square and Herald Square into pedestrian space. Other stretches of Broadway will feature protected bike lanes, pedestrian zones, and local traffic-only vehicle access. Transportation Alternatives has long worked to see Broadway become a great pedestrian street - soon New Yorkers will reap the benefits.
